Why AFRIKA KOMMT?
The AFRIKA KOMMT! initiative brings together the most visionary young leaders in Africa and leading German companies. Companies benefit from the expertise, knowledge, local networks and unique African perspective of the young professionals. The African Followership delve into the peculiarities of German companies, the German business spirit and German culture.
The AFRIKA KOMMT! initiative brings together the most visionary young leaders in Africa and leading German companies. Companies benefit from the expertise, knowledge, local networks and unique African perspective of the young professionals. African Fellows delve into the peculiarities of German companies, the German business spirit and German culture. With international experience, technical skills and the German language, they become agents of change in Africa, with the aim both of German-African business relations and of the economic and social development of the Fellows’ countries and communities.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWERSHIP PROGRAM.
- Check the general candidate requirements – are you qualified and eligible for the program?
- Check out the scholarships available for new students at AFRIKA KOMMT! and the required documents.
Scholarships are only open at the application stage.
Your application will be considered as part of the entire AFRIKA KOMMT! program, but you will need to select up to 2 documents and explain the reasons for your selection in the application form. - Register at https://application.afrika-kommt.de and fill in the application form in English.
Applications in other languages will not be considered.
In addition to filling in the application form, you will also need to upload a short introduction about your motivation, an idea for a change program, a photo and your credentials.
About the idea for a change program:
One of the goals of AFRIKA KOMMT! is to create a platform to support young African professionals in designing change programs to solve social and economic challenges in their countries. Please come up with an idea for a change program that you would like to implement in your country. You will be asked three questions about your idea in the application form. - Please submit your application by the closing date of March 23, 2025 – applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
